Dragon Birthdays

I was lucky enough to be production designer on this great short film created and directed by Teddy Newton. It is the short that will be shown before Toy Story 3 (opening June 18th in the USA) so get to the theater early and don't miss it! I am very excited that the public will finally get to see it because it's unlike anything Pixar has produced before. Working on this film was one of the best times I've ever had, which is saying a lot because I’ve worked on some really great projects (like the academy award winning UP!). I can't wait! Oh and P.S. It's not about a dinosaur!

Details... Photos... Five Years 16" x 20" Acrylic on Panel 2009 This is a piece I did for some friends who recently celebrated their fifth anniversary. (Or sort of recently anyway, it's taken me an extremely long time to get it scanned and prep it for shipping)

I'm moving to a new office space at work and I came across these sketches from Laboratory Still Life 02 . I have some things piling up to post here. Stay tuned.

Hey Look! UP is coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray tomorrow! Also, check out these blueprints... image above is a story beat-board I did for UP

I've been working on a series of original paintings for my store . Some more abstract than others. I hope to get my originals section of the store open in the next month or two but it's been busy lately. This piece is fairly small at 9"x12" and I have some ideas for a much larger piece in this same vein that I hope I can get to sooner rather than later. Mad Acrylic on Panel 9" x 12"

I am very excited to announce the opening of my new online art store! I will be selling my art prints and original art direct to you. The store currently has a handful of prints (shown in the image above) and original paintings will be available in the coming weeks. I will be adding more prints and paintings to the store over time. You can find a link directly to the store in the sidebar to the right. Check it out! www.DonShank.com
