I hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend. Here we've had a mix bag of weather. Right now it's sunny so I've forgotten all about the rain already! I will start off with the April Shelf: All four of the pin pillows are made by me and they are Blackbird Designs. The sweet little bunny up front was made by Anna (Ana?) in Poland. Sadly we lost touch. It's been a few years since she moved and I think her blog was closed down.  I have found that has happened to me with blogging friends. Good morning. It's a rainy Monday morning here. The weather (what else do we talk about?) has been very windy, even stormy at times lately. We even had some hail in parts of the city! When I go outside I have to double check what weather to dress for! How about you? Here's my start on a new sampler. Can you guess what design it is? Well, back at Nashville Market, my eyes were caught on this sampler. It's called Bird Song. I remembered looking at it and thinking it looked awfully familiar and that's because it reminded me of this beautiful antique sampler I saw a few years ago!  I had loved this antique sampler from afar and thought to myself "maybe I can chart it one day" ...ha ha ha. Hi peeps! I hope you are keeping well. I know it's been freezing in many parts of this continent so I can't complain about the rain that just resumed this morning. (What would we talk about if not for the weather?) After my last post, I must've been hit with some virus (that's the little hiccup) although it didn't seem to be the flu or a cold. I was just extremely tired and had an upset stomach. I suppose I am thankful it wasn't anything worse but it really threw me for over a week! I have a couple of smalls to show you today, both are from Homespun Elegance. Hello there, happy stitchers! Are you busy or should I even ask? I have been busy baking cookies this past week and giving a lot away to happy munchers! I like doing it for precisely seeing the happy smiles, the gleam in their eyes, when they receive the home baked cookies.  I left some at a friend's doorsteps and she told me when she got home she ate three before she even hung up her coat! That just makes my day! So, no fresh stitching to show this week but I thought I would collect what I have to show you. I stitched and finished more Christmas designs in the last year than I've ever done, which actually reminds me ... I have some I should dig up. They were meant to be framed but maybe I could temporarily fudge them to just hang on the wall, a la Marly!I love her displays! Here we go: My husband put up a couple of these IKEA picture rails above a work table recently and I so love them for I can quickly change the display.  Here's my "bowl" for this year...

Thanks for all your sweet comments on my last post. The article was also a push-in-the-back I needed to get back to stitching so I went stash diving for some smaller pieces. I find mid-Spring here is the best time for blooms. Here's a peek at part of what's blooming chez nous. Clematis Azalea Iris Golden Celebration Rose Golden Celebration Rose (bush) Tea Clipper Rose Strawberry Hill  These roses are all David Austin roses. They are doing tremendously well this year. The yellow rose's blooms are the size of my hands! I was the lucky recipient of this RAK from Carol of Stitching Dreams . As anyone who has seen her blog, you know her work is exquisite and I can attest to that!  She made me this beautiful pillow and she even changed the design to include my kitties, Julius and Daisy.  You can read all about it here .  Carol also included these goodies! Hello there! I thought I'd just stop by quick to say hi so you don't forget about me! We are already in the heat of summer and summer has not even officially started!  "The weather is crazy" seems to be a phrase that can be heard from anyone's lips these days, no matter where you live!  A lot of my roses have had their first flush of blooms and are resting up for the next round (I hope).  Here are a couple of roses still blooming. Benjamin Britten, a David Austin rose Abraham Darby, a David Austin rose   I have not been stitching at all. I am cheating by showing you an old finished piece. It sits right by my computer and I'm looking at it now. It's "Be Kind and True" by Blackbird Designs. (In case you are wondering, I don't have this chart any longer.) Hello! Happy First Day of Summer!  Actually we have been having summer weather for well over a  month now so my head is a bit confused! The fantastic weather makes anything and everything beautiful. Last Sunday morning, we went for an short walk along the river. Come and have a look. It was such a lovely time of the morning. There were only a few people out, along with some duckies on the water. In our garden, I've found two surprising lovely ladies blooming in our back lane! These are Hollyhocks and this is the first time I've seen them bloom. They are so gorgeous!  Pholx in pink-purple shades.  I love this photo of the white hydrangeas. You can see how huge this shrub is! Looking at it I feel like I am looking at an orchestra!  In case you are wondering, Daisy is doing just fine, loving napping by the open window. Comatose Cat! Thanks for stopping by!
